Glen Moray. Not a distillery you hear many malt nerds talk about, but they produce a lovely rich distillate that's often oily, charismatic, and full of fun. This 10yo is a bit dearer than a normal 10yo whisky, but that does sometimes happen when the quality of the wood used in the production exceeds normal constraints! Aka, this is an EXCELLENT example of PX hogshead. Get amongst it.

A gloriously saturated Glen Moray, the fruity malt revealing itself on the nose which achieves full concentration; Six years finishing in a PX hogshead ups the ante adding custard and hints of sticky date. More of a Summer pudding character on the palate, simple and tasty, the sherry thickening the mouthfeel. Altogether relatively feisty for this make, even with water. 56.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 329 bottles.
